I've never looked back - Glenlivet is that good.Glenlivet was one of the first to distil legally under the 1823 reforming excise act, such that the founder George Smith had to carry pistols for protection from the smugglers. His whisky became so popular that many others tried to use the name 'Glenlivet', so it took a legal settlement to protect the name, others only being able to use it in hyphenated form, something that endures to today.
